JEWISH ROOTS OF CHRISTIANITY

The purpose of this class is to increase your awareness, knowledge and understanding of the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.  You will see Jesus, the Messiah, in the Temple structure, the Passover meal and the feasts of Israel.  We will use the Hebrew Scriptures (the Old Testament) to reveal the Gospel.  We will trace the history of our faith from Abraham to the present, help you to better understand the Jewish heart and mind-set and discuss issues concerning the present State of Israel.  Diane Frankenfield will lead this 10 week class.

THE REST OF GOD

Experience the rest of God… a 6 week class that will remind everyone about the gift of Sabbath.  The gift of Sabbath is essential to our full humanity and faith.  This class will help us receive anew the gift of Sabbath which allows us to live more fully into our status as free people, released from grueling, incessant demands that our lives place on us.  This class is based on a book by widely acclaimed author, Mark Buchanan, who claims that what we’ve really lost is “the rest of God – the rest God bestows and, with it, that part of himself we can know only through stillness”.  Joe Bjerkestrand will lead this class.  The book cost is $10.

SURPRISED BY SUFFERING

In times of suffering, the integrity of God’s goodness presses upon our minds.  Faith engages in a wrestling match with our emotions and our trust in God.  Should we be surprised by suffering?  Could it be that suffering is part of the human condition?  A calling ordained by Almighty God?  In this VHS-based series R. C. Sproul addresses the most difficult struggle in human experience:  the problem of pain.  He shows us that God is involved in our suffering and reminds us that a time is coming when our suffering will be finished forever.  Glen & Tricia Roth will lead this 6 week study.

THE ESSENCE OF HIS PRESENCE - New Class 

Jim McGiffert will lead this class. Christ is the answer not only to our greatest challenges, but to the everyday pressures and problems of life. Learn how the Lord will go before you, the Lord will go behind you, the Lord will go beside you, the Lord will go above you and the Lord will go within you.
