GOD AND HEALING (September 14)
Jesus’ ministry is described in the Gospels as preaching, teaching and healing the sick. He gave authority to the disciples to continue that ministry. But what about today? Can we expect to see miraculous healings for ourselves or those we love? Or is that mostly wishful thinking? When we are ill, should we pray for healing or for God’s will to be done? What does the Bible say? Join Pastor Peters for this 1 session presentation.
THE 7 SECRETS OF EFFECTIVE FATHERS
Begins September 21
How are you supposed to know what to do? You can’t get certified, become a master tradesman, or get a degree in it; but it is the most important job you will ever have – being a dad. This class is based on a book by the same name, and it gives you only seven things that you need to know and do. The important things! The class will be an informal discussion of the book and a sharing and support time for men of all ages. Kevin Lawson will lead this 10 session class. The cost of the book is $10.
THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
We sing of God’s holiness, but what does “holy” really mean? Is God like a bigger, stronger, perfect person (ourselves magnified a zillion times) or is God something “totally Other” that what we are? What does it mean to know His immanent presence… or his goodness? If we long to know God more deeply, then surely we need to start with those words describing the One who calls Himself ‘I AM THAT I AM”. Pastor Carol Peters will lead this 4 week class.
