Q Is there a limit on how many families or children I adopt?
A The members of La Casa have always been very generous for this ministry. There is no limit of how many families/children to adopt or food baskets to provide. In fact, for those who want to provide more, we have the "Shoe Certificate Program"
Q Where do I sign up to help deliver on December 15?
A Having enough people to deliver the gifts/food baskets is a very important part of this ministry. Sign ups will be taken at the Adoption Table on the dates indicated. If you wish, you may notify us that you would like to deliver by calling 480 585-7494. Remember, the only way to deliver to a specific family is to adopt an entire family (gifts & food) and sign up to deliver to that family.
If you do not adopt the entire family but still want to help deliver on December 15, you will need to bring your items back to La Casa so that they can be matched with the rest of the items for that family. On delivery day you will be assigned a family on a first come, first saved basis. Please refer to the delivery day schedule.
Q If I adopt a whole family and deliver the packages, can I increase the number of presents or food?
A We would prefer that you stay within the guidelines, because some of these families live together or the kids play together and will compare presents. If they all receive comparable packages then everyone is happy. Also some families are not able to store multiple boxes of food.
Q Our covenant group (or our family) adopted an entire family and will deliver on December 15. Do we bring our food and gifts to La Casa?
A If you are adopting and delivering to a whole family, you do not have to bring the packages to the church. Please keep them at home until delivery day. Please refer to the delivery day schedule.

Q Do I have to limit the gifts/clothes to $25 per gift?
A This guidline was put into place to make the program as equitable as possible to all the children receiving gifts, particularly those within the same family. We are suggesting no more than three gifts per child for a total value of no more than $75. This amount is not a requiement, it is a MAXIMUM. If you would like to purchase one or two gifts, that would also be acceptable, as long as you maintain the "no more than $75" limit.
Q How do I wrap the gifts/food?
A Normal Christmas wrapping is fine for the gifts but because we have to store/stack/restack/deliver these packages, usually anything not taped down or flat, gets squashed or sometimes lost. Each gift must have the name of the recipient and the family number firmly attached or written in bold marker on the package.
Please place the food in laundry baskets, sturdy boxes or containers, which are stackable and weigh less than 35 pounds each. The package handlers and deliverers would really appreciate this. Boxes can also be simply wrapped.
Q Where and when do I return gifts/food boxes?
A If you are not delivering to a whole family that you have adopted, please bring the packages back to the Fellowship Hall on Sunday morning, December 9, before or after all services (until noon) or on the following Wednesday, December 12 between 9:00 am and 7:00 pm. There will be someone to help you at these times. Again, they need to be brought to La Casa so that they may be matched with the rest of the items for that family.
Q If I volunteered to deliver, where do I go on Delivery Day to pick up my delivery?
A On Delivery Day, December 15, all drivers will meet for breakfast at La Casa de Cristo. Please refer to the delivery day schedule of events.
Q I want to help in this ministry- where do I sign up?
A It takes many volunteers to assist in adopting and delivering gifts and food baskets to more than 200 families.
If you would like to provide additional help during the month of December in the area of organizing and inventory of items, directing traffic, or helping to serve breakfast on December 15, please call us.
