Christmas Angel Tree Ministry 2007

The Christmas Angel Tree Ministry is one way our congregation shares the love of Jesus Christ by reaching out to the needy in our community during the Christmas season.  In recent years, Palomino and Campo Bello elementary schools, and the Bridge have been the recipients of the generosity of our congregation members.

We are pleased to once again partner with our sister congregation of La Sagrada Familia in providing food boxes and gifts for the children of families experiencing financial hardships.   We hope it will enable you to experience the joy of giving in the name of Jesus Christ and see first-hand how the Christmas Angel Tree Ministry helps others.

If you have any questions, please call Dan or Barb Halaburda at 480-585-7494.  You may also call any one of the program committee members: Terry Chaillie, Karen Clark, Brad Fortune, Bill Gronlund, Bobbi Hess, Ron Howard, Sheri Lawson, Maribel Ornelas, Peggy or Richard Redding.

Adoption Process – November 17, 18, 21, 25 – The adoption process will begin after worship on Sundays, November 18 and 26 and Saturday, November 17 and Wednesday, November 21.  Tables are located in the courtyard where you can sign up to provide gifts for one or more children and/or food boxes for the families as well as sign up to deliver gifts on delivery day, December 15.  Gift return/drop off will be Sunday, December 9 and Wednesday, December 12.  It is imperative that you label each box and/or package with the number of the family receiving the gifts.  Guidelines have been developed on gift giving and food basket preparation.  There is also a list of frequently asked questions concerning this ministry.

The Christmas Angel Tree Ministry will also accept gift certificates for shoes.  These certificates will be given to Pastor Jose for use throughout the year in helping to provide shoes for children as needed.  Stores that sell shoes include, but are not limited to: Payless Shoe Source, Wal-Mart, DSW Shoe Warehouse, J.C. Penney’s, Target, Sears, Famous Footwear and Red Wing Shoe Store.  Just bring the certificates/cards to the La Casa de Cristo church office during the week, or drop them off at the Information Table on Sundays.  Please mark the items to the attention of “Christmas Angel Tree Ministry.”
