"Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again. Rejoice!"
- Philippians 4:4
Friends, family, and mighty prayer warriors,
Always, means always! Whether in pain or in pleasure God is teaching me to rejoice! This past week, Sarah Dawn started her first root canal! After dealing with tooth pain in a recently filled tooth for 3 months, I finally went back to the dentist to discover the needed remedy. This root canal was no surprise to my God and through it, I am learning to rejoice in all situations. It is only by His strength that I could sit in a dental chair in Costa Rica worshipping and rejoicing with the sound of a drill hitting and removing the nerves in my tooth. God is teaching me to ask the all important question "What do you want to teach me in this Lord?" in every situation. His answer flooded over me along with his peace. You see, this next week I will be teaching our DTS every day on the God’s inner healing, aka The Divine Plumbline. I am amazed as the Lord began to give me a vivid lesson to share with the students about how my root canal is just like the undealt with sin in our lives that I will be teaching on this next week.
Just like a cavity, unforgiveness and sin start small in our lives. If dealt with immediately, the pain is small and the decay stops growing. However, when we know about it, decide to wait, or even ignore it, the problem goes deeper. The junk in our lives can go so deep that it begins to effect our roots, causing intense pain and stopping us from chewing on God’s truth. Just like my root canal. I let it go too long, too many other things to do, other ministries, etc. Even though the dentist thought the cavity was small, it ended up being bigger than anyone expected. Yes, a root canal hurts (I am learning that too :), but the pain brings true healing and a release from the constant pain I was in before.
It is with delight that I share my root canal with you and ask for your prayers this next week as I teach. The students in the picture above have learned to lay down their rights, worship God with all that they are, hear His voice, and next week we all will be learning to rejoice in root canals! I ask that you would pray for God to move mightily and deeply in their lives setting them free from past sins, hurts and junk that they have let go for too long. Our God specializes in inner healing, getting to the root of the problem and taking the pain away. I also ask that you would pray for me to be used by God as I open my mouth and teach (pain and all") In God’s perfect timing, my root canal will be finished on Friday right after I finish teaching for the week and I am believing Him for a mighty work to be done in each of the students’ lives as well.
Thanks for praying with me,
Sarah Dawn
