What is the role of a Faith Community Nurse? (FCN)
Faith Community Nursing provides a non invasive role of coordination, facilitation and support for the members of the congregation with health care issues. The FCN facilitates the relationship between faith and health care needs. In this role the nurse serves as an integrator of health needs, health educator, health counselor, community liaison, health advocate and witness to the gospel message of Christ and His Word.

Are you wondering if the Parish Nurse can help you? If you are dealing with health care issues for yourself or family members including your spouse, children or even your parents, she just might be the sounding board you need.

Our Parish Nurse, Rita Block is there to listen and brainstorm with you. She is able to assist with home care and support group referrals. She has visited various assisted living homes in the area if you are faced with those types of needs. Rita will be happy to work with you to find the right answers for your situation. So if you aren't sure where to turn, call Rita at the church office or send her an e-mail. Rita also has a table in the courtyard every Sunday morning. Stop by and meet her as you get your morning coffee.

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy?
Stay informed. This website will be updated regularly as information becomes available. Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
Take everyday actions to stay healthy. Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it. Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way. Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
