The National Lutheran Choir, under the direction of Dr. David Cherwien, is a 65-voice choir that strengthens, renews and preserves the heritage of sacred choral music. Drawing on this rich and diverse repertoire, the choir performs works ranging from early chant to new compositions and from simple folk anthems to complex orchestral masterworks. Members of the National Lutheran Choir come from the upper Midwest states and many are graduates of the outstanding choral programs at Lutheran colleges around the country. Congregations, colleges and communities host performances throughout the region and nation. The ensemble offers workshops in choral techniques, hymnody and liturgy; and commissions leading composers and publishes new compositions in partnership with Morningstar Music Publishing.
