The Navajo Lutheran Mission, in partnership with the Navajo People and rooted in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is a community seeking to meet the educational, health, social and spiritual needs of the Navajo People.

Rock Point, Arizona

More than fifty years ago, Lutheran Christian missionaries arrived in Rock Point, a remote village near the Four Corners area. The Mission was founded with Bible study, English language classes, a clinic, an elementary school, and a worshipping congregation.

The Mission is about the Navajo people, many who live with social problems, abuse, housing needs, disease, unemployment, poverty, limited access to adequate health care, and in many cases no electricity or water. The goal of the Navajo Lutheran Mission is to improve the programs and services that will enhance the lives of these families.

The Navajo Lutheran Mission school is for K-6th grade with an enrollment of 75 children. It offers an alternative school to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and community schools, and provides an education that reflects Christian values while respecting Navajo culture and tradition.

Both Men's Ministry and Girlfriends Unlimited have made mission trips to Rock Point to do various work projects. Watch for ways you be involved the next time they go.
